Edit Invitation And Reminder Templates
Update invitation and reminder emails sent to learners
You can edit existing invitation and reminder templates to update the internal name, email subject line, or message content used when communicating with learners.
Both invitation and reminder templates are managed from the Communications page.
Edit an invitation or reminder template
- Go to Communications in the left navigation
- Locate the message type you want to customize (for example, Invitation or Reminder)
- Select the caret (▸) to the left of the message type to expand the section
- Find the specific template you want to edit
- Select the pencil icon to open the template
Update template fields
You can update the following fields for both invitation and reminder templates:

Template name
Enter a clear, descriptive name. You can replace or edit the existing name. This name is only visible to admins and is used when selecting invitation or reminder notifications during assignment setup. Learners do not see the template name. -
Email subject line
Edit the subject line for emails sent using this template. You can delete the existing text and write a new subject or add to the existing text. -
Message body
Edit the main email content. Changes appear in the preview at the bottom of the screen.
When you’re finished, select Save to apply your changes.
Important notes about placeholders and formatting
- Text inside double curly brackets (for example,
) is a predefined parameter- You can move or delete these placeholders
- Do not edit the text inside the brackets, or the content will appear blank
- Invitation and reminder templates use Markdown syntax, which allows basic formatting such as using asterisks (
*) for italics
