Foundry: Resetting a Password as a Learner

Learn how learners can reset their Foundry password

This article explains how a learner can reset their password in Foundry and outlines the password requirements and restrictions that must be met.

These steps apply to learners who log in with a Foundry password. If your organization uses SSO, password resets are managed through your identity provider.


Reset your password

To reset your password as a learner (non‑SSO):

  1. Go to the Foundry login page
  2. Select Forgot Password
  3. Enter the email address you used to register
  4. Check your email and follow the link to create a new password

If you don’t receive the email, check your spam or junk folder.


Password requirements

Your password must meet all of the following requirements:

  • At least 12 characters
  • Include characters from at least three of the following four categories:
    • Uppercase letters
    • Lowercase letters
    • Numbers
    • Special symbols (! @ # $ % *)
  • Be different from your previous six passwords
  • Not include indicators of time (for example, Winter24)

Password restrictions

Your password cannot include:

  • Month names

    • January–December (English or Spanish)
  • Season names

    • Winter, spring, summer, fall, autumn
    • Spanish equivalents (invierno, primavera, verano, otoño)
  • Days of the week

    • Monday–Sunday (English or Spanish)
  • The word “password” or common variations (for example, p@$w0rd)

  • Four‑digit years

    • Any year from 1900 through five years in the future
  • Date‑like strings

    • For example: 12312023, 310583, or similar formats that resemble dates
  • Your own personal information, including:

    • First or last name
    • Organization name
    • Email address
    • Parent email
    • SSO ID
    • Username
    • Employee ID or student ID

Password best practices

Passphrases are recommended.

One approach is to think of a phrase, use the first letter of each word, and then add numbers and symbols.
