Course Description
Preventing Workplace Violence defines workplace violence, informs learners how to recognize it, teaches principles to prevent it, advises how to respond to it (including an active shooter situation), and outlines relevant leadership responsibilities. The suite is made up of two courses: Preventing Workplace Violence for Leaders & Preventing Workplace Violence.
Preventing Workplace Violence for Leaders: those learners in leadership positions (learners can have both the supervisor and non-supervisor roles)

- Worksite-Specific list of emergency exits (Provide a detailed list or attach a floor map with emergency exits clearly marked to this template.)
- Staff meeting location in the event of an emergency
- Emergency-related devices and how to operate them (Including fire-alarms)
- Additional emergency procedures (For example, specific procedures for an evacuation.)
- Security-related devices (including personal response systems and panic alarms) and how to operate them
- Store-specific security problems and how to address them (This information only needs to be provided to supervisors)
- As a healthcare employer with employees in Ohio, you may wish to use this course to present learners with your hospital security plan, anti-retaliation policy, and information about your incident reporting system as required under Ohio HB 452.
