Use SAML Tracer to capture and troubleshoot SSO and SLO messages
Overview
SAML Tracer is a free browser plugin that captures SAML messages exchanged during single sign‑on (SSO) and single logout (SLO).
When enabled, SAML Tracer records the SAML requests and responses sent between Foundry, acting as the service provider, and your identity provider. This makes it easier to see what is happening behind the scenes and diagnose configuration or authentication issues.
While other browser tools and techniques are available, SAML Tracer is a commonly used option and works well for reviewing SAML traffic during setup and troubleshooting.
Using SAML Tracer With Foundry
SAML Tracer allows you to:
- Perform SSO or SLO as usual
- Capture all SAML messages exchanged during the session
- Review requests, responses, assertions, and errors
This information is especially helpful when working with IT or identity teams to resolve SAML configuration issues.
