SCORM Dispatch

An overview of how SCORM Dispatch works with ComplyEQ courses

Overview

SCORM Dispatch is a method for delivering online training content using the Shareable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) standard. SCORM defines how eLearning courses communicate with learning management systems (LMS).

ComplyEQ supports two SCORM Dispatch standards:

  • SCORM 1.2
  • SCORM 2004 (3rd Edition)

Why SCORM Dispatch Matters

When ComplyEQ courses are built using SCORM standards, they integrate more easily with LMS platforms that also support SCORM. Because both systems follow the same specifications, course deployment and tracking are more streamlined.

This approach allows organizations to:

  • Launch ComplyEQ courses directly from their LMS
  • Track learner progress and completion through SCORM
  • Reduce setup complexity when integrating compliance training

Using SCORM Dispatch

SCORM Dispatch is not available for all courses. Contact Support to confirm whether the courses you want to deploy are eligible for SCORM Dispatch.

If your organization uses an LMS that supports SCORM, ComplyEQ provides courses in a SCORM‑compatible format. For each eligible course, you receive a SCORM Dispatch package that you upload into your LMS or course‑hosting platform.

What Is Included in a SCORM Dispatch Package

Each SCORM Dispatch package contains configuration data used to deliver the course correctly, including:

  • Organization ID
  • Content ID
  • Package ID
    • Used to map users to content
    • A new package is required to redeploy the same course for a different role or location
  • Learner geolocation
  • SCORM version (1.2 or 2004)
  • Learner role, such as Supervisor or Non‑Supervisor

How Dispatch Packages Work

With SCORM Dispatch, ComplyEQ hosts the course content, while your LMS renders the content when learners launch the course.

This approach:

  • Ensures course continuity and compliance requirements are met
  • Allows ComplyEQ to deliver content updates automatically as regulations change
  • Preserves data integrity by maintaining a backup completion record in Foundry

You do not need to manage course file updates for each state or regulatory change.

What Is a SCORM Dispatch Package

A SCORM Dispatch package is a package shell that references ComplyEQ course content through a secure URL. The package does not contain the actual media files.

  • Delivered as a ZIP file that follows SCORM specifications
  • Typically around 80 KB compressed
  • Approximately 400 KB when extracted

Most LMS platforms allow you to upload and manage a SCORM Dispatch package like any other SCORM course.

Course Objectives and Scoring

Some LMS platforms require courses to be configured with score‑based objectives, such as passing or failing grades.

ComplyEQ courses do not track scores. Due to compliance requirements, courses are designed to require 100% accurate completion rather than numeric scoring.

Learner completion certificates are not available through Foundry. Certificate generation and display are managed within your LMS or HRIS.

To support reporting needs, Training Progress reports in Foundry are available as a backup reference for completion data.
