Send Vs. Send Supplemental (Survey Settings)
Understand the difference between standard and supplemental surveys when creating assignments
Overview
Surveys are commonly attached to courses and are used to collect feedback or information from learners. When creating an assignment, you can choose how surveys are distributed using the Send or Send Supplemental options.
Send (Standard Surveys)
Standard surveys are attached directly to a course and are sent to all learners who take that course, unless surveys have been turned off for your organization.
These surveys typically appear as part of the course experience and are intended to gather consistent feedback from every learner.
Send Supplemental (Supplemental Surveys)
Supplemental surveys are sent to a random subset of learners who complete the course.
Key characteristics of supplemental surveys:
- Sent only to a percentage of learners, not everyone
- Delivered after learners complete the standard course surveys
- Not available for all courses
Supplemental surveys are used to collect targeted insights from a smaller group of learners on topics that may or may not be directly related to the course content.
