SSO Troubleshooting: New User Asked To Update Profile (Fields Are Blank)

What This Means

When a new user signs in using single sign‑on (SSO), they may be taken to a screen asking them to enter basic profile details—such as name or email address—but the input fields appear blank.


Why This Happens

This issue occurs when there is a problem with attribute mapping in your identity provider configuration in Foundry.

Even if your identity provider uses attribute names that appear to match Foundry’s fields, those attributes must still be explicitly mapped.


How to Resolve the Issue

  1. Open your Identity Provider configuration in Foundry
  2. Review the attribute mappings
  3. Confirm that all required attributes are mapped, including:
    • First name
    • Last name
    • Email address

All required attributes must be mapped explicitly, even if your organization uses the same attribute names by default.

After updating the mappings, retry the SSO login.
