Testing and Troubleshooting (SCORM)
Learn how to test SCORM course packages before launch
Overview
We strongly recommend testing your SCORM course packages in your LMS or HRIS before launching to learners. Testing helps ensure courses launch correctly, display as expected, and report progress and completion data accurately.
Administrators should also preview any configured pages included in the course. If you need to preview a full course experience, create a test assignment in your LMS.
Before You Begin
When testing SCORM packages, review each item below to confirm the course is ready for launch.
Course Launch
- The course opens in a pop‑up window
- Pop‑ups are allowed in the browser
- The course launches without errors
Window and Display
- The course window resizes correctly
- All content fits within the visible area
- Text, images, and buttons do not overlap
- Content remains readable at different window sizes
Profile‑Based Content
If the course uses profile services:
- Content changes correctly based on location
- Supervisor and non‑supervisor content displays as expected
Customizations
If the course includes custom elements, confirm they display properly:
- Policies or resources appear in the course
- Custom pages load at the correct point in the experience
You will be notified if customizations are included and require validation.
Policy Acknowledgement
If the course includes a policy acknowledgement:
- Learners are required to acknowledge the policy
- Learners cannot progress without completing the acknowledgement
Interactive Activities
Confirm that interactive elements function correctly:
- Click paths and branching logic work as expected
- Flip cards and other interactive components respond correctly
- No interactive elements are blocked or unresponsive
Progress and Completion
Verify that learner progress and completion are recorded correctly:
- Progress saves when exiting and re‑entering the course
- Returning learners land on the correct page
- Completed learners can review previous content
- Completion passes back to Foundry after exiting the course
- Completion data is recorded in your LMS (most important)
The person who provided the SCORM package can confirm completion data in Foundry once the course is exited.
