User Upload Page Overview
Learn how to review and interpret bulk user uploads
Overview
The User Uploads page shows a history of all bulk uploads used to create new users or update existing users in Foundry. Administrators can use this page to confirm upload status, review results, and identify rows that were rejected during processing.
To access this page:
- Select Users from the left‑hand navigation
- Select User Uploads
Upload Details
Each upload entry includes the following fields.
File Name
Displays the name of the uploaded CSV file.
We recommend using clear, descriptive file names so uploads are easy to reference later.
Upload Type
Indicates how the file was processed.

New Users
Creates users that do not already exist in Foundry. Email addresses or SSO IDs must be unique. -
Update Existing
Updates users that already exist in Foundry. Foundry matches users based on existing email addresses.
Imported Rows
Provides a downloadable CSV containing all users that were successfully processed and added or updated.
Rejected Rows
Provides a downloadable CSV containing users that were not processed successfully. Download this file to review row‑level error messages.
Common rejection reasons may include:
- Location does not exist in Foundry
- Invalid Custom Category or Label
- Unsupported characters in user data
- Duplicate email address
- Duplicate SSO ID
- Missing or invalid user role

Upload Date
Shows the date the file was uploaded to Foundry.
Delete Blanks
Indicates how blank cells were handled during the upload.

Blank cells overwrite and remove existing user data -
No
Blank cells leave existing user data unchanged
Status
Displays the overall processing result.

Complete
The file was processed. Some rows may still have been rejected. -
Incomplete
The file could not be processed. Select the Incomplete indicator to preview the file and correct errors.
Actions
Allows deletion of the upload record.
- Upload records can be deleted only when the status is Incomplete
- Completed uploads cannot be deleted and serve as a historical record
Important
The User Uploads page is intended for review and reference. It does not modify users directly. To correct rejected rows, update the CSV file and upload it again.
