Foundry Course Migration
Understand when and how to move to new or updated courses
When a new course is released or an existing course is updated, you may need to take action to ensure learners have access to the most current content. This is not always required, and the timing and steps can vary by course and by your organization’s subscription.
For course‑specific guidance or account‑level questions, contact your Customer Success team or Support.
When course migration is needed
New or updated courses become available to assign as soon as they appear in your account. Availability depends on the course and your subscription.
You may need to migrate when:
- A course is rebuilt or significantly updated
- A new version replaces an older course
- New configuration options are introduced
- Regulatory or policy requirements change
Review course configurations before assigning
When a new course or updated version becomes available, review any custom configurations before assigning it to learners.
This is important because:
- New configuration options may be available
- Organization‑specific content may need to be recreated
- Some configurations may be required for compliance
Important: Configurations from a previous course version do not automatically carry over to a new version.
Policy considerations
For newly released courses, you may need to add policies within the course configuration to ensure compliance.
If you had policies configured on a previous version of the course, you’ll need to add them again to the new version. Review configuration options before assigning the course to learners.
For detailed guidance, see the Workplace Training Configuration Guide.
SCORM considerations
If you use SCORM:
- You’ll need to create and download a new SCORM package for the updated course
- You may also need to reset your SCORM retraining schedule
Refer to Creating and Downloading Your SCORM Package and Reset Your Retraining Schedule (SCORM) for detailed instructions.
